To those of you from Senatobia who read this

Ok, first off, I had no idea anyone from around here read this thing. And honestly, I know that anyone can find anything on the internet at any time. I'm not a complete idiot.

But, I just got a very upset phone call from a friend. And that friend is being shunned because people read this blog, and think that she caused them some problems.

And I am so, so sorry for that. There is nothing I can do to undo what I did. I can delete the post, yes, but the damage has already been done. If I'd had any clue that any of you would have read that, and would've caused this friend problems, I never in a million years would've posted it. Never.

So, for those of you who know of which situation I speak - I ask you to be considerate of other people around you. Stop being suspicious of your co-workers. I know your jobs are hard enough as it is, so don't make it harder on those around you by your actions.

Please consider how you would feel in the same situation. And how you would feel as a parent, in mine.

If you have any vengeance, don't take it out on her - take it out on me. You all know where to find me.

Lurkers.

Sigh.

That's a shame that they upset your friend rather than speaking to you.

Seems that courtesy would dictate that they at least mention their concern in the comment section so that it could be addressed following the proper channels.

For real - how was I supposed to know they read? They never leave a comment, or stop me in the store, or anything of the such!

I'll just have to make a mental note (and perhaps a computer-side post it) to be more "choicey" in the future.

I missed what happened, but I totally understand about being cautious with words. Sometimes when we vent, it may hurt others feelings. Hopefully things will resolve themselves.
As for the fiels trip I would have gone to the principal too. :o)

It's several hours post-event, and I still feel just terrible about this whole thing. And I'm trying to figure out if there is anything I should do to make it better, or if any efforts would just make the whole thing worse.

Sigh

Melissa,

Please don't try to make it better, efforts would probably make things worse for everyone. Things are better left alone.

Sorry things came back on your friend. (I still think you did the right thing. A mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do.)

Melissa, stop beating yourself up. I really thought there was nothing inflammatory about your original blog post on the subject of the cancelled field trip. You're a parent, you had every right to know that a field trip that your child had been promised, was canceled for reasons that weren't necessarily valid. Had the teachers told the parents that there were concerns that the field trip shouldn't happen and they didn't get enough chaperones after they'd shared their concerns, then maybe it would've been proper to cancel the trip.

You even acknowledged how thinly spread the teachers are, due to being short-staffed and the resulting out of whack student to teacher ratios. You may have pointed out some areas of criticism, but you offered solutions to those areas, too.

Don't think about deleting this comment either, sis. I'm grown. I say what I WANT!
