Andy Samburg is a genius.

Or at least, whoever came up with this is a genius.

I just about fell off my bed laughing last night at this.

I know Valerie - I've got that Adam Levine hook in my head right now!

I wondered if people would get offended by this, that it was villifying the Iranian president, and then I realized just how offensive it is to him - on so, so many levels.

Offended? hehe, who care? That's what America and free speech are all about.

I laughed :o)

Linda, I do believe in free speech, (and, of course, freedom of the press, thankyouverymuch) but I was more concerned about the moms of service people serving in the Middle East, or families of people who were taken hostage in the early '80s.

I tend to be overly sensitive like that.

Then, like I said, I remembered. He's being called gay by two Jews. It's about the worst thing in the world that could happen to a radical Muslim.

Especially since there are "no gays" in Iran. Yeah right.

No way was this making him look good.

So, it was back to funny for me! Glad you got a laugh too!

I never loved "Junk in a Box" (or whatever the official name was) that much. This is much better to me and smarter, because I think it's really clever to disrespect President Ahmadinejad by insinuating a romantic relationship between him and another man - AND it's a Jewish guy to boot. That's why I don't mind some of the over-the-top things he says in the song because Ahmadinejad should be degraded in that way after some of the things he's said.

Butter pecan thighs.

And your hairy butt.

Yeah.

(BTW, loved the Jake Gyllenhall cameo at the end. Another stroke of genius.)

I also read on Fred Armisen's blog that this was recorded in one of the offices there at SNL, and that they flew Adam Levine in for a marathon recording/shooting session from midnight to about 11:00 a.m. that morning.

Oh, and mad props to you, Amanda, for spelling the Iranian president's name correctly.

Well done.
