My daughter, the Gecko.

We got Anna Marie's soccer roster yesterday.

She's apparently a Gecko!

At first, she wasn't thrilled about being on a team named after a lizard, but then Jason got her to do the "lizard tongue" thing that only the two of them know how to do, and she was OK with it.

Practice starts next week, and the games start mid-September. Thankfully most of them are at 9:15 a.m., and only a couple are at 8:00 a.m.

The other teams have names like Squirrels, Hamsters, and such.

Considering all that, I guess Gecko is the coolest team of all.

What is the lizard tongue thing? I ask because my daughter does this spitting from under her tongue thing like the iguanas. By the way, although I don't like lizards, gecko sounds waaay cooler than hamster!

My husband has been doing it ever since I've known him, and it must be hereditary, because Anna Marie can do it to! It sounds silly, but it's a way they flick their tongue in and out really quickly, making this sound. I don't know how else to explain it!

My husband does his "lizard thing" sometimes when we're just sitting around, watching TV or something.

And I agree about the hamster vs. gecko thing. My sister HATES rodents of any type, so I'm glad Anna Marie won't be sporting one on her jersey!
